Experiencing Space - Spatial Translation

This project is split into 2 parts, Project 1a and 1b. In groups of 3 to 4, we were to identify, understand and analyse different modifying elements of architecture through precedent studies for Project 1a. Each precedent study shall be presented on one A3 panel, with diagrams, drawings, images, minimal descriptions or annotations, to illustrate our analysis and demonstrate our understanding of modifying elements, articulation of spaces and the plan-section relationship. After learning about the precedent studies and interpreting the design narratives, we have to design one design scheme of spatial translation which uses the selected modifying elements of architecture from Project 1a for Project 1b.

Even though this was a group project, overall it went pretty smoothly. We all did our part in contributing to the project which resulted in a satisfying outcome for the project. Although we did not get the result we were expecting for this project due to inaccurate orthographic drawings, we are still very proud of ourselves. It was the first time I did post-production for an assignment using Photoshop and I think it looks really nice for a first try so I am very happy about that. I also get to familiarize myself with digital rendering through this project so I am very satisfied.
