Tectonics: Design Principles, Anthropometric and Ergonomic Exploration

In this assignment, we were tasked to use our understanding of anthropometry, ergonomics, tectonics with timber and the supporting material combined with our previous understanding of design elements and principles to design a free standing structure within a 5m3 volume. The structure must be in conjunction to a chosen banal action that enhances the usage of the structure.

Through this assignment I was able to acquire a basic understanding of the properties of timber which is the dominant material of this project as well as its tectonics with my chosen supporting material, fabric, to create a structure with anthropometry and ergonomics in mind that accommodates the banal action of reclining.
